VFLA Poster contest

This year the Vermont Foreign Language Association's annual poster contest theme is "Communicate Globally. Connect Locally." All of my beginning Spanish students had the option of making a mini-poster for class, or a larger poster to submit for judging in the contest. My advanced French students were given the option to participate for extra credit. So far, the work that I have received has been wonderful! We have some very talented artists among us, but just as importantly, we have so many creative and original higher level thinkers.
Last year Mary Rutenbeck and Jack Workman from Williston won honorable mention awards for their entries. They were honored in a ceremony at the State house in Montpelier with Governor Douglas! From what I've seen so far this year, WCS should have some students in the running once again! Stay tuned. Winners will be announced at the VFLA convention in October.
